TRAINING MUST BE GIVEN AS PER THE REQUIREMENT OF THE INDUSTRY IN COLLABORATION WITH ALL STAKEHOLDERS - Nalini Kathotia

Jaipur: All stakeholders should collaborate when it comes to the skilling and training process. Training must be given keeping in mind the requirement of the industry. RSLDC has trained around 4.9 lakhs youth in all skill development schemes. The Corporation is now placing more emphasis on demand-driven skilling from existing supply-driven skilling through the introduction of the recruit, train and deploy model. RSLDC along with State Water and Sanitation Mission has trained 40,000 youths as plumbers, electricians and fitters under the Jal Jeevan Mission in 33 districts of Rajasthan. Other schemes like – Saksham, IM Shakti, Samarth, Sankalp, etc. have also been implemented to benefit different sections of society. This was informed by Managing Director, Rajasthan Skill & Livelihoods Development Corporation, Ms Nalini Kathotia. She was delivering the keynote address at the inaugural session of the virtual edition of the 5th Rajasthan Skills Summit today. It was organized by FICCI Rajasthan State Council. The session was moderated by Head, FICCI Rajasthan State Council, Mr. Atul Sharma.

Senior Vice President & Director Honda Car India Ltd, Mr Praveen Paranjape said that Learning and Development (L&D) is a journey and not a milestone. It has to evolve with the changing environment. The process of education and its means need to be innovated to align with the upcoming challenges.

National Leader - Education & Skill Development KPMG, Mr Narayanan Ramaswamy said that learning on the job, gig workers and gig jobs, emotional quotient of the workforce, training to create a global workforce and training that includes digital technology will be the future trends of skilling.

Earlier delivering the welcome remarks, Chairman FICCI Rajasthan Sub-committee on HR, Skills & Education, Mr Sunil Kumar Yadav said that there is a need to prepare for the future by reforming the education and skilling ecosystem.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Member, FICCI Rajasthan Sub-committee on HR, Skills & Education and Head – HR (R&D Centre), Hero Motocorp Ltd, Mr Ratan Agrawal.

Following the inaugural session, two plenary sessions were also held. The first plenary session was on ‘Futuristic Skills for Resilient India’. It discussed the future skills; skilling, upskilling and reskilling for value addition; skilling within the community; diversity and inclusivity in skilling approaches; hybrid learning model, etc. In the second plenary session – ‘Best of Skilling Practices’, Chairman, FICCI Rajasthan Sub-committee on MSMEs and IMC Chairman, ITI Beawar, Mr N.K. Jain said that the human resource should know the core skills, be responsible towards managing change and be accountable for action. He also shared his experiences of working with Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). Apart from this, some case studies and new initiatives were also discussed.
