Jaipur: Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) is all set to host the Indian Economic Association (IEA) Annual 103rd and 104th Conference from 4 to 6 January. The inaugural session of the conference will be held from 10.30 am onwards tomorrow (4 January) at the Dr. T M A Pai Auditorium in MUJ. The Chief Guest on the occasion will be Minister of State for Higher Education, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Rajendra Singh Yadav and Guest of Honour will be Former State Minister for Education, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Bhanwar Singh Bhati.
On the first day Former President, IEA, Former Chairman, UGC & ICSSR, Chief Editor, IEJ, Prof. Sukhadeo Thorat and Chairman, Manipal Global Education, Shri Mohan Das Pai will participate as Guests of Honour. Former RBI Governor, Dr. Raghuram will address the valedictory session. The welcome address will be delivered by Vice-Chancellor, Manipal University Jaipur, Prof. G.K. Prabhu. Founder & Chairman, KIIT and KISS, Bhubaneswar, Prof. Achyuta Samanta will throw light on the objectives of the Conference. The inaugural address will be delivered by Chairman, 15th Finance Commission, N.K. Singh and Vice President -IEA HOD of Economics VSSD College, Kanpur, Dr. Devendra Awasthi will deliver the vote of thanks.
The Vice President – IEA & Vice Chancellor, O.P.J.S. University, Rajasthan. Prof. B. Ramaswamy will deliver a Special Address. IEA General Secretary, Prof. BP Chandramohan will talk about the activities of the Indian Economic Association. Similarly, ISID Director, Dr. Nagesh Kumar and Prof. K.M. Naidu of the SP University Tirupati will deliver the Presidential Addresses. Pro-President of Manipal University, Jaipur, Prof. NN Sharma will deliver a special address during the valedictory session. Similarly, the Conference Special Issue of Indian Economic Journal & IEA Membership Profile- 2022 will also be released by the dignitaries present. IEA will also present different awards on this occasion including the Sushila Thakur Merit Award and T.S. Papola Merit Award, etc.
The conference will also be attended by Vice Chancellor of Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur, Prof. A.D.N. Bajpai; Professor, Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi, Prof. V.N. Alok; Vice Chancellor of BRA University, Prof. Ashok Mittal, former Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan University, Prof. Kanta Ahuja; Vice Chancellor of Kuvempu University Shimoga, Prof. B.P. Veerbhadrappa as well as delegates from the country and abroad.
The conference will have five major themes. These will include – banking and financial sector, balanced regional development, human resource development as well as economic development in the era of technological revolution.
