Thiruvananthapuram: Industree Foundation and Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd (TRIFED) are working jointly to undertake various initiatives for promoting tribal products with the purpose of improving the livelihood of tribal artisans and producers. It is a mission to work with the marginalized tribal community for the promotion of tribal products. Areas of the association are Retail Marketing of tribal handicrafts and handloom products, TRIFOOD Project, and Van Dhan Yojana.
As a part of the association, Industree will help TRIFED in increasing its presence & eventually the sales through a variety of modes, including branding, packaging, etc. Industree will help TRIFED in finding appropriate partners/ Professional Managers to run the TRIFOOD value addition facilities effectively. Industree will also help identify, train managers and paraprofessionals from communities to manage the Van Dhan collectives in business and social skills needed to professionally function and supply products to markets. Industree will work on accessing various funding opportunities available via CSR, domestic and international donor agencies to support the Van Dhan Yojana and other projects. Whereas, as part of the above initiative, TRIFED is involved in procurement and marketing of handicraft, handloom, and natural products produced by tribal artisans and tribal entrepreneurs through its Retail Chain Network of 144 showrooms by name of “Tribes India” located across the country.
