Abu Dhabi, UAE : Deerfields Mall, Abu Dhabi’s popular community mall, is inviting residents and visitors alike to join in the fun at the 50th National Day celebrations between 29 November and 15 January 2022, when they kick-off their ‘From Sand to Stars’ campaign.
Deerfields’ outdoor Heritage Village will honour the nation’s culture and traditions with a lineup of activities for all to enjoy, including Arabic cooking stations, arts and handicrafts, an outdoor souq, and Al Ayalah dancing. The celebratory Sands to Stars Heritage Village will be located in the mall’s newly refurbished garden area with operating hours of 2pm – 10pm.
In addition to a retrospective journey through the UAE’s customs, the village will showcase the country’s future vision and aspirations with a virtual reality projection of the Emirates Mars Mission and more - providing a contemporary twist to the cultural initiative.
“National Day is the pinnacle of the UAE celebratory calendar, and we want to bring all members of our community together to honour 50 years of achievements, culture, and heritage that have made our great country what it is today,” commented Mohammed Al Haj, CEO of Deerfields Mall. “Our Sand to Stars initiative will pay homage to the past whilst looking forward to the UAE of the future.”
Meanwhile, shoppers can engage in even more festive fun with the opportunity to win a GAC GS4 car worth AED 120,000 when they spend AED 200 at any of the mall’s outlets or AED 500 at Carrefour until 29 December. Furthermore, an exciting Scratch and Win will enable shoppers who spend AED 50 or more at any retailer to win instant prizes valued up to AED 500 each including perfumes, clothes, gym passes and more.
Further enhancing the Year of the 50th celebrations, Deerfields Mall has proudly launched an inter-school art competition titled ‘Project Ghazal’. 3000 students from ten local schools are set to compete for a total of AED 24,000 for their school’s art and design department. Encouraging young creative talent in two age categories, pupils aged six to ten and eleven to sixteen, will submit their entries to be in with a chance of winning AED12,000 for each of their schools, whilst the winning students will individually gain AED 2,500 for the 1st prize winners, AED 1000 for 2nd prize winners, and 3rd prize, AED 500.
The student’s deer-inspired canvases will be displayed in the Mall’s atrium throughout the National Day holidays until 29 December, mall visitors are invited to view the works-of-art before voting for their favourites on @Deerfieldsmall‘s Instagram page with the winners announced on 18th December 2021.
