IAF drubs Hyderabad Xl by 6-0, in the exhibition match at the 'Gooncha 57th Nehru Senior Hockey Tournament’!

Hyderabad :The first match of the fourth day at the ‘Gooncha 57th Nehru Senior Hockey Tournament’, was an exhibition match played between IAF and Hyderabad Xl, at the SCR Sports Complex, Secunderabad. IAF effortlessly drubbed Hyderabad Xl, with a 6-0 win. IAF’s Sukhdev Singh scored a field goal in the 8th minute of the game, thereafter both the teams didn’t succeed in finding the net and at halftime, IAF led 1-0. In the second half IAF team went on a goal scoring spree with Dilip Pal scoring two field goal in the 41st and 44th minutes, followed by Navdeep scoring a field goal in the 47th minute; Sukhdev Singh scoring his second goal, a field goal in the 51st minute and Nitesh Kiro scoring the 6th goal through a penalty stroke in the 56th minute. Mahesh Reddy of Hyderabad Xl was named the Man of the Match.

Results: IAF - 6 ( Sukhdev Singh - 8th minute - field goal; Dilip Pal - 41st minute - field goal; Dilip Pal - 44th minute - field goal; Navdeep - 47th minute - field goal; Sukhdev Singh - 51st minute- field goal &Nitesh Kiro - 56th minute - penalty stroke)beat Hyderabad Xl – 0.

Game -2: PSB vs Indian Railways

 

Indian Railways bounces back & registers massive 7-3 win over PSB, at the 'Gooncha 57th Nehru Senior Hockey Tournament’!

 

Hyderabad, November 17th, 2021:The first quarter final of Pool ‘B’, was played between Punjab & Sind Bank and Indian Railways, at the ‘Gooncha 57th Nehru Senior Hockey Tournament’, being held at the SCR Sports Complex, Secunderabad, today. Both these teams have a glorious hockey history, contributed several famed players for the country and still continue to produce some quality players.Both the teams played competitive hockey, however, today was Indian Railways’ day, the team exhibited some classy hockey with excellent stick work and well-coordinated passing, paving the way for a huge victory of 7-3 and with the current form seem to be a probable for semi-finals.

 

PSB dominated the first quarter with Innocent Munda opening the account with a field goal in the 7thminute and Aditya Singh adding a fabulous field goal in the 17th minute. Thereafter, Indian Railwaysbounced back by exhibiting tremendous fighting spirit, they relentlessly attacked the PSB defence till the end. Mukul Sharma with an outstanding field goal in the 20th minute, reduced the margin for India Railways; Ajay Yadav displaying lovely hockey skills got the equaliser through a field goal in the 22nd minute; Pardeep Singh added two field goals in the 27th and 32nd minutes. Prince brought some solace for PSB by converting a penalty corner in the 38thminute and taking their score to 3 goals. However, Indian Railways team went on to add three more field goals to their kitty, Arjun Sharma in the 42nd minute; Seshe Gowda in the 45th minute and Ajay Yadav in the 53rd minute, ending the game with a huge win of 7-3. Seshe Gowda of India Railways was named the Man of the Match.

 

Results: Indian Railways - 7 (Mukul Sharma - 20th minute - field goal; Ajay Yadav 22nd minute - field goal; Pardeep Singh - 27th - field goal; Pardeep Singh - 32nd minute - field goal; Arjun Sharma - 42nd minute - field goal; Seshe Gowda - 45th minute - field goal and Ajay Yadav - 53rd minute - field goal) beat PSB – 3 (Innocent Munda - 7th minute  - field goal; Aditya Singh - 17th minute - field goal & Prince – 38th minute - Penalty Corner).

Green Card : Shahbaz Khan, PSB – 17th minute; Kunwar Dilraj Singh, Indian Railways - 14th minute & Pardeep Singh, India Railways – 25/39 minutes.

Man of the match : Seshe Gowda of India Railways. 

 

Game -3: Indian Oil vs Army Xl

Army Xl; at the 'Gooncha 57th Nehru Senior Hockey Tournament’!

 

Hyderabad, November 17th, 2021: In the quarter final match of Pool ‘A’, Olympians studded Indian Oil trounced Army Xl by 4-1; at the ‘Gooncha 57th Nehru Senior Hockey Tournament’, being held at the SCR Sports Complex, Secunderabad, today. Despite two Olympians in their ranks, Raghunaath VR & SK Uthappa, Indian Oil didn’t perform to their full potential, overall it’s a good start to begin their campaign in the tourney. This is Army Xl’s second match in the quarter final league, their match with PNB ended in a draw, yesterday.   

 

Army Xl scored its only goal early in the match, with Harman Singh striking a field goal in the 4th minute. Indian Oil team warmed up to the game only in the second quarter of the match and steadily increased their lead as the game progressed. For Indian Oil, Sumit Kumar scored a field goal in the 20th minute; Raghunaath VR converted a penalty corner in the 25th minute; Talwinder Singh scored a field goal in the 42nd minute and Roshan Minz scored a field goal in the 52nd minute. Sumit Kumar of Indian Oil was declared the Man of the Match.

 

Results: Indian Oil - 4 (Sumit Kumar - 20th minute - field goal; Raghunaath VR - 25th minute - penalty corner; Talwinder Singh - 42nd minute - field goal & Roshan Minz - 52nd minute field goal) beat Army Xl - 1 (Harman Singh - 4th minute - field goal).

Green Card : Raghunaath VR, Indian Oil - 5th minute & Pratap Shinde, Army Xl – 14th minute.

Man of the match : Sumit Kumar of Indian Oil.
