Dubai, UAE : Zabeel House by Jumeirah, The Greens, the city’s funkiest neighbourhood hangout, is rolling out a special edition of Project Art - an interactive initiative designed to empower Dubai’s burgeoning art community - to commemorate the UAE’s 50th National Day.
The initiative’s sixth installment will see Swedish contemporary artist Madeleine Kurtsdotter spotlight Emirati culture and heritage from 28 November to 12 December.
Known for her experimental work with colours, textures and shapes, and her passion for exciting contrasts, Madeleine’s exhibition will showcase a series of masterpieces that pay tribute to UAE. A live painting experience will also take place on 29 November from 11am to 2pm, with visitors able to see Madeleine in action in the hotel’s lobby.
Madeleine has previously exhibited work in art galleries, art shows and public places across Sweden, France, Belgium and most recently at the UN Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. The artist mostly works with mixed techniques combining acrylic, oil, porcelain paint and natural materials.
Art enthusiasts also have a chance to take part in an unmissable interactive workshop on 6 December from 7pm to 9pm for only AED 60 per person. With all necessary materials provided, participants will have a chance to create their own greeting cards to mark the UAE’s Golden Jubilee.
