New Delhi: COAI, the representative body of the Indian telecommunications industry, today, organized a joint webinar on ‘5G – Era of Virtual Network & Edge Computing’ with The Economic and Trade Mission, Embassy of Israel. The webinar was organized to bring the telecom ecosystem together to derive a holistic approach for building the next generation of networks.
It was attended by Operators, Technology Companies, Network Equipment Providers, Virtual Network Function & Cloud Native application providers, IoT Players, Test & Measurement Companies, Government Agencies. Representatives of top-notch Israeli Companies gave detailed presentations highlighting how transformative technologies will usher the age of complete digitization globally.
The webinar began with a welcome address by Lt. Gen. Dr. S.P. Kochhar, Director General, COAI and Ms. Natasha Zangin, Head of Economic and Trade Mission, Embassy of Israel. It was followed by detailed presentations by top-notch Israeli Companies.
In his welcome remark, Lt. Gen. Dr. S.P. Kochhar, Director General, COAI mentioned, “We are thankful to the Israel Embassy for coordinating with us on this important discussion. The presentations were followed by a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Vikram Tiwathia, Deputy Director-General, COAI on the theme of ‘5G and Edge Computing: Transforming Future Networks.’ The panelists, composed of experts of the technology ecosystem, discussed how future networks are transforming with 5G and Edge computing. The wireless technology is capable of building and providing necessary boost to overall network, bringing in significant opportunities for network virtualization, AI, and automation while considerably lowering associated costs and enhancing the delivery of network-based services, IT systems, and applications.
A Q&A session was followed by the panel discussion. The panelists highlighted the need for robust communication infrastructure that will support the technological innovations and advancements which will transform our lives for good. The webinar ended with a vote of thanks.
