Elevating the Ottoman dining experience, Babaji, the authentic Turkish eatery in the heart of City Walk, has unveiled an all-new line-up of weekly specials, which take diners on a culinary journey of traditional dishes from Beypazari, Bodrum, and Bursa.
Served on a rotation schedule, the all-new specials keep to the authenticity of the craft – handmade from scratch much like all other dishes on the menu, giving diners the true taste of Turkey.
On Mondays, Babaji will be serving güveç. Available in chicken and lamb options, the güveç is made with succulent portions of melt-in-your-mouth marinated meat, slow cooked to perfection inside a traditional clay pot specially made for Babaji.
On Tuesdays, indulge in an extremely popular dish from Bodrum, çökertme, which is marinated meat immaculately grilled and served on top of crispy thin slices of potatoes with a tomato-based sauce and yoghurt, also available in lamb and chicken options.
And on Wednesdays, tuck into the yaprak iskander and yaprak doner, which are made from leaf doner meat, expertly prepared from scratch in-house by Babaji’s skilled chefs. The iskander is served on traditional Turkish bread with tomato and butter with yoghurt on the side; while the doner have the option to be served on homemade Lavash bread or on a bed of pilav rice.
To top off an authentic Turkish meal, diners also have the option to add a traditional Ayran drink, known as Turkey’s favourite summer beverage, and a choice of desserts, from a lip smacking selection that includes kayseri cevizlisi, which is crispy bread filled with buttered crushed walnut, tahina and honey; irmik helvasi, made with fried semolina served with Turkish ice cream and pine nuts; and the famous trilece butter cake, which is soaked in evaporated milk, condensed milk and heavy cream.
