Jaipur: AU Small Finance Bank India’s largest small finance bank as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) today inaugurated the Solar Power Grid at Akshay Patra Foundation, Jaipur campus. The initiative is aimed at providing sustainable electricity through use of renewable energy besides savings on energy costs in a long term.
The bank has supported Rs 50. lacs for the installation of a 170KW solar power grid at the rooftop of the main building of the Akshay Patra Kitchen facility at Jaipur. The installation of renewable energy sources will cut down the electricity cost to significant extent. . It is also a key step towards providing clean energy and protecting the environment at large.
The funds saved from the electricity bills will be re-routed towards supporting the foundations’ noble cause of providing a wholesome meal to the students of the foundation. The newly installed solar power grid will help the foundation an independent energy generator within two years of its installation.
Speaking at the event Mr. Yogesh Jain, Chief of Staff, AU Bank said, “At AU it is our continuous endeavor to support the holistic development of children as they are our country’s future. Only through the right nourishment of mind and body can help them to become a better human being. Akshaya Patra Foundation has done incredible work to end classroom hunger and we completely resonate with the vision and goals of the foundation. Having said that, taking a step for a better tomorrow our installation of solar panels on the roof is a safe and easy path to contribute to a sustainable future. And we are humbled to have been able to make a difference in the lives of people”
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Mr. Yogesh Jain, Chief of Staff, AU Bank along with Mr. Anantsesa Das from the Akshay Patra Foundation.
