Thiruvananthapuram, June 13: Kerala Government is holding a two-day international Gen AI conclave in Kochi, on July 11 and 12, in collaboration with IBM.
Launching the official website of the conclave here today, Minister for Industries, Law and Coir Shri P Rajeeve said the flagship event will shape the future of Gen AI, besides demonstrating Kerala's commitment to fostering innovation and embracing transformative technologies.
The event, to be hosted at Lulu Grand Hyatt Bolgatty International Convention Center, Bolgatty, Kochi, will bring together industry leaders, policymakers and innovators to explore the transformative potential of AI and its impact on society and the economy. This event will be a significant milestone in the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Kerala and the Country.
“The International Gen AI Conclave stands as a testament to Kerala's commitment to fostering innovation and embracing transformative technologies. With IBM as the Partner, this groundbreaking initiative aims to position Kerala as a hub for Generative AI innovation, catalyzing economic growth and driving forward the state's vision for Industry 4.0 readiness,” the Minister said.
Shri Rajeeve said the government aims to transform Kerala as an AI destination through this conclave where around 1,000 delegates are expected to attend.
Holding a grand AI conclave was announced in this year’s budget as one of the most important interventions by the state government in the AI sector.
Principal Secretary, (Industries), Shri A. P. M. Mohammed Hanish; KSIDC MD and Director of Industries & Commerce and Secretary, INPRD, Shri S. Harikishore; IT Mission Director Ms Anu Kumari; KSIDC Executive Director, Shri Hari Krishnan R; and IBM representatives Mr Charlie and Mr Vishal were also present.
Speaking on the occasion through videoconferencing, Mr Dinesh Nirmal, Senior Vice President of Products at IBM Software, emphasized the importance of public and private collaboration in scaling generative AI.
"As we enter the next phase of generative AI, cooperative efforts of public and private organisations are essential for rapid progress. We are honoured to collaborate with the Government of Kerala to host this conclave,” Mr Nirmal noted.
“This event will help drive generative AI innovation, address business and societal challenges, and foster skill development. By providing access to top-quality tools and knowledge, this is a significant step by the state government to strengthen the talent pool and infrastructure in cutting-edge technology research and development,” he said.
Mr Nirmal added that it will be a huge achievement and opportunity for Kerala as the conclave will be featuring global clients and talents.
The launch of the website heralds the commencement of a comprehensive digital platform that will serve as the epicenter of information and engagement for the International Gen AI Conclave. Offering detailed insights into the event's agenda, distinguished speakers, interactive sessions, and registration process, the website ensures seamless access for participants keen to be part of this transformative gathering.
As the Conclave gears up to welcome a diverse array of attendees, including developers, business leaders, universities and students, media and analysts, government officials, IBM clients, its partners etc., anticipation is high for the dynamic exchange of ideas and insights that will shape the future of AI in India.
The mainstage agenda promises a captivating blend of keynote addresses, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, including an innovative Developer "Playground" where attendees can explore the latest advancements in AI technology firsthand. Esteemed guests, including Hon’ble Chief Minister, Hon’ble Ministers, IBM leadership teams, industry thought leaders, Indian tech business leaders, and special guests will grace the stage, sharing their expertise and vision for the future of AI.

As part of the lead-up to the Conclave, two pre-event hackathons will be held on WatsonX platform—one dedicated to university students and the other to local startups. Also, the State government in association with IBM will conduct 'Tech Talk' on the topic ‘Unleashing the Power of Generative AI: Transforming Ideas into Innovation’ by Mr. Srinivasan Muthusamy of IBM India Software Lab in Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram on June 18 at 4pm; Infopark, Kochi on June 20 at 3pm and Cyber Park, Kozhikode on June 21 at 11 am, towards reaching out to the larger target audience on the potential of the AI sector in the State.
