Trivandrum: ICT Academy of Kerala (ICTAK) organized the ‘Top10’ South Region event, at Tagore Theatre, Vazhuthacaud, Thiruvananthapuram on the 20th of February, 2024, from 02:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Over 800 students from 65 member institutions in the south region participated in the event.
Over 800 students from 65 institutions participated in the event. The program commenced with setting the context by Mr. Muraleedharan Manningal, CEO of ICTAK. The overarching theme, ‘AI & Beyond: Shaping the Future of Work and Employability’, resonated throughout the event. ICTAK's CEO announced that the organization will be introducing additional industrial collaboration programs in the near future. Mr. Sai Krishnamurthy, Technology Assurance Leader at EY, delivered a compelling keynote address. His insights delved deep into the subject, enlightening attendees on the transformative potential of artificial intelligence and its implications for the future workforce.
The highlight of the event was the engaging panel discussion featuring esteemed industry stalwarts. Mr. George Oommen, Senior Manager at IBM; Ms. Kaamna Jain, Lead of Communication & Collaboration at Nasscom; Mr. Sree Kumar V., Centre Head of Tata Elxsi; and Ms. Suja Chandy, Managing Director of Zafin, shared invaluable insights and perspectives. Mr. Jithin Chakkalakkal, Manager HR at Reflections Info Systems, moderated the panel discussion and he started with a live data analysis based on the feedback collected from the audience and gave a few interesting insights, such as except 7% of the participants, all uses AI tools in at some extent in their day to day activities. The discussion then navigated through the complexities of technological evolution and its impact on employment dynamics, as well as the involvement of academia and industry.
The panel discussion concluded that early engagement with industry is beneficial for academics to secure jobs easily, and adopting the most modern technologies can help avoid obstacles for artificial intelligence.
The event saw the exchange of separate Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with CDAC and Celonis, underscoring ICTAK's commitment to fostering collaborations and driving technological advancement.
The event for the north region will be at Nalanda Auditorium, Mananchira, Kozhikode on the 22nd of February.
