STATE GOVERNMENT IS TAKING VARIOUS INITIATIVES TO BOOST IT AND STARTUPS IN RAJASTHAN

Jaipur, 20 February :The newly appointed State Government has prioritized Information Technology (IT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Virtual Reality (VR) etc. as its primary focus areas. Two significant upcoming projects in these domains include the development of the Hi Tech City near Jaipur and the establishment of the Atal Innovation Studio and Accelerators. The Hi Tech City will primarily concentrate on IT, Fintech, and Machine Learning, while the latter will encompass coding, robotics, fab lab technologies, multimedia, and VFX. This was informed by the Chief Secretary, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Sudhansh Pant today at the 8th edition of Digital Rajasthan Conclave where he was the Guest of Honour. The Conclave was organized by FICCI Rajasthan State Council, in association with Software Technologies Parks of India (STPI).

The Chief Secretary further said that the Techno Hub in the state is the largest startup hub in the country. As many as 4000 startups are registered in the state and over 30,000 jobs have been created. Furthermore, women led startups and entrepreneurs are being encouraged. School students are also  being educated and motivated towards entrepreneurship. He also highlighted other initiatives such as the Fintech Digital institute in Jodhpur, Rajasthan Centre for Advanced Technology and Rajasthan Institute of Advanced Learning. The availability of land and highly qualified tech savvy human resources puts Rajasthan at an advantage, added Mr. Pant.

British Deputy High Commissioner to Gujarat and Rajasthan, Mr. Stephen Hickling said that the 2030 Roadmap for India-UK relations, launched by both countries’ Prime Ministers is infused with references to collaboration on digital technology. Rajasthan’s vision of enabling the growth of the industries of tomorrow through technology aligns closely with UK’s own strategy and the India-UK 2030 roadmap. By focusing on Ed-tech, digital healthcare, fintech and sustainable smart solutions, the UK and Rajasthan are very much in alignment, he added.

Chairman, FICCI Committee on Multilingual Internet and Universal Acceptance & MD, Data Group, Mr. Ajay Data emphasized that despite Rajasthan being home to 4000 startups, it lags behind the national average. In India, there is 1 startup for every 12,000 people, whereas in Rajasthan, the ratio stands at 1 startup for every 20,000 people. He highlighted the revolutionary impact of AI and the internet permeating every aspect of people's lives through various devices, emphasizing the need to adapt swiftly to evolving technologies.

In his Welcome Remarks, Chairman, FICCI Rajasthan Sub Committee on IT & Startups and CEO, Pinnacle Infotech, Mr. Bimal Patwari said that technology is a double edged sword. It is important how we harness the technology for inclusive growth. Shedding light on the objective of the programme, he said that it aims at deliberating upon latest trends & technologies, related opportunities and challenges and how Rajasthan can leverage the presence of robust IT industry, skilled manpower and enabling policies to drive investments, create employment, promote entrepreneurship and improve efficacy of service delivery.
