[Mumbai, October 6, 2023] — Great Place To Work® India is proud to announce the release of India’s Best NGOs To Work For 2023. This prestigious ranking applauds organizations that have not only demonstrated an unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and empowering work environment for all. The comprehensive study brings to light several key insights, including the remarkable gender diversity within NGOs, with 45% of the workforce being females, which is 24% higher than the other industries. This social commitment is strategically aligned with a substantial economic impact, projected to constitute 2% of the nation's GDP.
The report estimates 80% NGOs in India primarily focus their efforts on promoting Quality Education, ensuring Good Health and Well-being, and working towards eradicating Poverty. The survey highlighted on average NGOs work across 13 locations, with 323 individuals and 97% of them working full time. The report highlights distribution of NPOs according to NGO Darpan Portal, i.e., Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra have the highest number of NGOs in India with 15% and 14% respectively, followed by Delhi at 8% and West Bengal at 7% among others.
