G-20 TOURISM EXPO AND GITB INAUGURATION TO BE HELD IN JAIPUR TOMORROW

- Two mega Tourism events to be held in Jaipur tomorrow
- GITB to be inaugurated tomorrow at 7 pm
- Foreign Tour Operators arrive in POW


Jaipur, 22 April. 
The two mega tourism events will be held in Jaipur tomorrow. The one-day G-20 Tourism Expo will be held at Hotel Rambagh Palace from 10:30 in the morning. Later, in the evening, the 12th edition of the Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) will be inaugurated at Jai Mahal Palace, at 7 pm.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Tour Operators and G-20 countries representatives arrived today evening in the Palace on Wheels at Gandhi Nagar Railway Station in Jaipur. They were welcomed by Chairman, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), Mr. Dharmendra Singh Rathore and other senior officials. There were folk performances at the railway station itself.

The G-20 Tourism Expo will include sessions and panel discussions with the presence of Minister for Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Vishvendra Singh, as the chief guest at the inaugural session. Foreign tour operators, including several representatives from G-20 countries will participate in the event. Among other dignitaries, the inaugural session will be addressed by the Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Mr. Arvind Singh; Principal Secretary, Tourism, Art & Culture, Government of Rajasthan, Ms. Gayatri Rathore; Chairperson, FICCI Tourism & Culture Committee, Mr. Dipak Deva.

The Inaugural Session will be followed by two sessions – the first on the, “Role of Tourism towards One World, Sustainability & Inclusive growth” which will be chaired by Joint Secretary Tourism, Government of India, Mr. M.R. Synrem. The second session, “Developing Tourism Economy by Destination Management and Empowered MSMEs” will be chaired by Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Ms. Manisha Saxena.

The inauguration of The Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) will be at the Jai Mahal Palace in the evening. Minister for Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Vishvendra Singh; State Minister of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Murari Lal Meena; Secretary Tourism, Government of India, Mr. Arvind Singh; Chief Secretary of Rajasthan, Ms. Usha Sharma; Chairman, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation, Mr. Dharmendra Singh Rathore;  Past President, FICCI, Dr. Jyotsna Suri,  Secretary General, FICCI, Mr. Shailesh Pathak; including many dignitaries will be present on the occasion.

A total of 283 major inbound Foreign Tour Operators (FTOs) from 56 countries will participate as foreign buyers in this mega event. Some of the major hotel chains, luxury resorts, heritage hotels, spa owners along with health care institutions, investors, financial institutions, national as well as international airlines, cruise liners, road transport organizations and State Tourism Boards will be showcasing an assortment of products at the mart. The international mart will witness as many as 290 Indian exhibitors setting up 300 booths at this colossal bazaar. There will be 11,000 pre-scheduled, structured B2B meeting in two days.
 
In addition to this, The G-20 Tourism Expo Golf Event is being organised in conjunction with The Great Indian Travel Bazar 2023 (GITB). It aims at promoting Golf Tourism. On the 24 April morning, over 50 golfers will play at the Rambagh Golf Course in the Pink City. The participants will include senior government officials, diplomats, industry leaders and lady golfers.

It is to be noted that the GITB is being organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). It is supported by leading national and regional associations like Hotel & Restaurant Association of Rajasthan (HRAR), Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA) and Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators (RATO).
