The opening of One&Only Portonovi in Montenegro introduced the ultra-luxury brand’s first resort in Europe, paving the way for Tapasake Club, the social heart of the resort. Inspired by its namesake outposts at One&Only Reethi Rah in The Maldives and One&Only Le Saint Géran in Mauritius, Tapasake Club at Portonovi evolves the restaurant experience into a stylish pool club concept on the shores of Montenegro. With a laid-back, sophisticated day-to-night atmosphere, welcoming both resort residents and day guests alike, Tapasake Club combines the unrivalled service for which One&Only is renowned, with a vibrant and chic environment inspired by the Adriatic Riviera – the European beach destination.

A SPIRITED SOCIAL PLACE

Framed by the Adriatic waters and dramatic panoramas of Boka Bay, the beachside lair is home to a dedicated 40 metre swimming pool lined with signature poolside cabanas alongside an aqua bar, perfect for bespoke cocktails. Guests can laze under the sun with eclectic poolside bites during the day, or enjoy the rooftop shisha lounge serving fresh juices, complete with endless bay views. As the sun dips below the horizon, Tapasake becomes the perfect place for sundowners, as revellers become transfixed by the magical colours of the sky and the ‘sunset ritual’ is revealed.   Straight from the energetic nightlife scene in Dubai, Resident DJ Nader Razdar effortlessly transitions from day to night, performing soulful tunes throughout the day and spirited sunset sessions to greet the glamour of the evening. In addition, there will be a changing cadre of live music, entertainment and global talent with special events from globally acclaimed DJs, musicians and artists.

FUSION DINING AND PIONEERING MIXOLOGY

Inspired by the depth of the Adriatic and the abundance of regional seafood delicacies, Tapasake Club serves a fusion menu of Japanese inspired tapas-style dishes. The menu celebrates the sea, from light, flavoursome plates of sushi and sashimi to ceviche and a selection of marinated fish seared over hot coals, complemented with fresh salads, vegetable tempura, and delectable small plates.   The culinary experience at Tapasake Club has been expertly curated to satiate appetites and cool temperatures under the sun, with guests welcome to sample the menu either by the tapas counter or by their poolside spot.

As the sun sets, Tapasake welcomes guests to discover the onyx stone, reclaimed timber, dark woods and oriental screens of geometric design of the restaurant. As the sophistication rises, the menu at Tapasake also transitions.  Unifying Europe’s small plate dining experience with Japan’s authentic refinement, the dinner menu at Tapasake includes dishes such as grilled octopus with chimichurri crust, baby chicken with a yakiniku salsa and crispy rice sashimi pizza.  The restaurant is helmed by Chef de Cuisine Cedrick Bayjoo, renowned for overseeing the opening of Nobu at Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai.

Spirits are celebrated at Tapasake with Asian-inspired cocktails with the fresh ingredients taking centre stage, crafted by the resort’s expert mixologists. Served alongside One&Only Portonovi signature cocktails including the Jewel of Boka Bay and the Novi Sunrise, signature concoctions from Tapasake include rare Japanese Sake and traditional Montenegrin Rakija infused with green tea, matcha and yuzu. Guests can sample the Nihon Negroni made with Japanese gin, the Sunny Samurai with accents of Angostura bitters, or the Blushing Geisha with hints of hemp Kombucha. A selection of Japanese whiskey ice spheres is also available, for those who want to ease themselves into the multifaceted world of Japanese whiskey, known for its experimental flavours. Finally, Tapasake is also home to an extensive list of international wines.

INTRODUCING WORLD-CLASS ENTERTAINMENT

Once night falls, Tapasake Club transforms into a buzzing nightspot, inviting revellers to dress in their finest whilst a captivating display of music and entertainment unfolds.  On 2 July, an opening weekend of performances commence with Bruno from Ibiza, followed by experimental dance-punk trio WhoMadeWho on 3 July, a Copenhagen based band who have headlined at Burning Man and Roskilde.   Nader Razdar closes the weekend festivities on 4 July. On 10 July, Kiko Navaro, a globally renowned DJ who has performed at Ibiza’s iconic Space and Pacha nightclubs and whose distinctive house sound reflects the sun-drenched, slow living atmosphere of the Balearic Island of Mallorca from which he hails, will take to the stage. The line-up of entertainment will continue to evolve throughout the Summer. 

PRIVATE PARTIES

For those looking to while away sun-soaked days with friends, the resort’s signature cabanas offer spacious, private lounging areas.  These exclusive spaces can be booked for groups for up to six guests and are just steps from the pool for refreshing dips throughout the day. Overlooking both the reflection pool and the Adriatic Sea beyond, each cabana comes equipped with its own soundbar, loungers and flat screen TV with amenities including Louis Roederer Champagne, fresh fruit juices, as well as Tapasake’s signature bites.   Tapasake Club can also be hired exclusively for private parties and events, with a dedicated team to plan every element of a special occasion.
