Jaipur: The documentary, ‘Stateless’ directed by Jaipur filmmaker, Mr Manvendra Singh Shekhawat will be released by internationally acclaimed Indian actor, Mr Anupam Kher from 8.30 pm to 10 pm on 11 July (tomorrow) in an online event. The documentary is about religiously persecuted Hindus who are forced to flee Pakistan and take refuge in India. Those interested can view the event
Mr Manvendra Singh Shekhawat said: “There has been a growing popularity of documentary films among Indians. They have started giving value to non-fictional documentaries. In the coming times, there is hope that more and more documentaries covering various topics will create more impact in society.”
Since the Partition of India and Pakistan, the minorities in Pakistan have been subjected to unimaginable atrocities at the hands of the majority Muslim population, 20% minority population at the time of independence in Pakistan has been reduced to less than 2% at present. They have either been killed or converted. Those who somehow escaped this gruesome onslaught are forced to flee to India to seek refuge.
It is to be noted that ‘Stateless’ has been produced by filmmaker, Nikhil Singh Rajputt. It takes the viewers on the journey of exploring the hardships these religiously persecuted refugees go through who are currently waiting to be accepted by India.
The online global premiere will feature a film screening and discussion with chief guest, Mr Anupam Kher and filmmaker, Nikhil Singh Rajputt under the initiative of Indicdialogue.org for the registered viewers.
