Mumbai: Set in the 21st century, THE DIAMOND is an action-adventure and drama-packed international series with its repertoire of extravagance. The narrative contours around the most controversial yet magnetic gem in the world coming back to its rightful home, India. The story is a striking and fast-moving dark comedy with multiple criminal capers involving myths and legends. The landmark project will be filmed around the world not only, in Britain and India but also in other exotic Asian and Middle-Eastern locations to embellish it authentically.
Bringing together a pool of talent, the development team for this collaboration is a global mastermind. The series is currently being developed by English actor and writer, Charlie Higson. He is famously known for creating Jekyll and Hyde, BAFTA winning: The Fast Show and the novel series: Young Bond. Joining him is another Indian-born British writer Farrukh Dhondy. He is especially known for Skates, Tandoori Nights and Red Mercury. THE DIAMOND is being directed by British film and television director Colin Teague. He has been most associated for directing Doctor Who, BAFTA-nominated: Being Human and Golden Globe nominated: The White Queen. An international award winning team comes together to create their wizardry inspired by the priceless Kohinoor.
The mammoth series is being produced by Bobby Bedi of Content Flow, Jay Galla of Amara Raja Media & Entertainment and Rahul Aggarwal of Star Entertainment. Industry stalwart, Bobby Bedi is currently primed to release his latest production on a leading OTT platform. He has also announced going on floor with the web series version of Bandit Queen. Indian conglomerate Amara Raja have been in news lately for industry announcements and their foray into films. THE DIAMOND marks their entry into OTT production. Rahul Aggarwal after a long history of film productions, is all set to enter the OTT space.
