Bengaluru, October 21st, 2022: Virtusa Corporation, a global provider of digital strategy, digital engineering, and IT services and solutions joins hands with Spastics Society of Karnataka (SSK) to support differently- abled children with everyday mobility requirements. In order to facilitate seamless commute for students to and from the SSK premises, Virtusa has donated a 17- seater van, built to cater to children with special needs.
In line with the core pillars of Education, Empowerment and Environment, Virtusa has been a part of outreach programs at Spastics Society of Karnataka by sponsoring special education of over 80 children with developmental disabilities. In the current partnership, the focus is on daily commute requirements of students enrolled at SSK. Safe and feasible commute options have been a roadblock for differently-abled children to pursue formal education to the best of their abilities. Through this gesture, Virtusa aims to support students and ensure they have the means for a hassle- free commute.
Speaking on this Amit Bajoria – CFO, Virtusa Corporation shares “Quality education forms the bedrock of a community, we must ensure that education is inclusive for all learners, including those with special needs. Schools and NGO’s who cater to differently-abled children must be well-equipped to meet the physical as well as emotional requirements of students who strive to raise beyond their limitations. The van was handed over by Virtusa Corporation at the Spastics Society of Karnataka in the presence of Directors and Senior leaders from both parties. The leadership team representing Virtusa were Amit Bajoria, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Shirsendu Deb, Senior Vice President Finance, Roch Ferreira, Vice President and Global Head of Corporate Marketing and Shilpa Kolhatkar, Vice President Finance.

Established in1982, Spastics Society of Karnataka undertakes promotion of rehabilitation of children with Developmental Disabilities. Over the last four decades they have supported 60,000+ children and their families through their rehabilitation programs.
