Jaipur, 27 August: Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022 was hosted at Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ). The University hosted this grand finale wherein 29 teams with around 180 students, along with the mentors, and 63 girls from various institutions across India participated to showcase their skills and develop technological methods for the problem statements given by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. MUJ, Directorate of Entrepreneurship Cell was selected as one of the nodal center out of total 75 Nodal Centers across the country to organize the SIH 2022 (Software Edition).
Valedictory Ceremony
The valedictory ceremony was organised on the second day of SIH 2022 at MUJ today. There were 6 winning teams of 6 problem statements - Clean & Green Technology, Smart Vehicles, Clean & Green Technology, Agriculture, FoodTech & Rural Development, Local impact of Urban Flooding in major cities, Municipal Finances and Tax Management System.
The I winner team from the 6 problem statements were -- TerraVision from Assam Don Bosco University, Guwahati; Falcon from C. V. Raman Global University; Synergy01 from MAEER's MIT Academy of Engineering – Pune; IMAPS from Pune Institute of Computer Technology, Dhankawadi, Pune; 404 SOLVERS of JSS ACADEMY OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION, NOIDA; Smart Innovators from Sethu Institute of Technology, and BlockWizz from Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology & Sciences. Each winning team received an award by the Chief Guest, Mr. Arvind Thanvi, Founder and CEO Moinee System Pvt. Limited Dr. Nitu Bhatnagar, Registrar-MUJ, Dr. Ravi Sharma, Director of E-Cell, Nodal Center Head- Mr. Vianayak Vasudeo Pachalag awarded the prize money of Rs. 1 lakh with the support of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
Inaugural Ceremony
Earlier, the inaugural ceremony of ‘Smart India Hackathon’2022 was held on Thursday at MUJ. The teams were welcomed by the President, Dr. G.K Prabhu, who encouraged the participants with his motivated words and appealed to them to take this Hackathon as an opportunity to make friends and connect. This was followed by an address of the Nodal Centre Head- Mr Vianayak Vasudeo Pachalag and the Chief Guest, Mr Anirudh Kala, CEO Celebal Technology Pvt. Ltd. Registrar, Dr Nitu Bhatnagar, Manipal University Jaipur delivered the vote of thanks. The inaugural function witnessed domain experts, senior professionals from IT industries and people from different ministries as judges for Hackathon’2022, participants, and mentors. The program was centrally inaugurated in online mode by the Ministry of Education on the same day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon 2022 via video conferencing in the Sh. TMA PAI Auditorium of MUJ. He emphasized promoting out-of-the-box thinking in young minds. He also shared his vision of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in the next 25 years as New India, the youngest country in the world.
